Does CoolSculpting work?
We get this question a lot, and with good reason! Today, a lot of people feel skeptical about anything that claims to “rid your body of stubborn belly fat.” Luckily, as of 2014 the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has fully supported the safety and efficacy of Coolsculpting procedures. What does that mean? Essentially, it means CoolSculpting is the gold-standard when it comes to non-invasive fat loss.
Of course, it is important to remember that all bodies are different. Each person who chooses to undergo CoolSculpting sessions will experience unique, individualized results. That is where our CoolSculpting experts come in. They will be able to help determine if you’re a good candidate, as well as your potential fat loss potential well before your actual appointment.
How much is CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting can cost anywhere between $750 per session up to $1,500+ per session depending on where you are located. In Cleveland, we tend to fall on the more affordable end of that price scale.
At Advanced Aesthetics, our clients pay around $800 per CoolSculpting treatment. Each session a client comes in for will consist of around 2-4 treatments. Since most people will need at least two sessions to achieve their desired results, we like to offer a tiered pricing model: 1 treatment - $800, 2-3 - $600, or buy 4, get 4 treatments free.
We know that can sound like a lot, which is why we offer a variety of customizable payment plans to fit each of our client’s unique needs. We also offer free quotes to help determine if Coolsculpting is the right fit for you.
Is Coolsculpting Safe? Is CoolSculpting painful?
Since CoolSculpting is FDA approved, we can assure you that it is an incredibly safe procedure. The most our clients' experience is a variety of incredibly common side effects:
During a typical CoolSculpting session, clients will experience a variety of sensations. Slight tugging at the skin, tingling, intense cold, and subtle cramping of the treatment site are the most common reported feelings. It is worth noting that after a few minutes of freezing, the majority of these sensations will subside.
After a CoolSculpting procedure, temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, and skin sensitivity will last a few days as your skin readjusts. These are all completely normal side effects and should subside after a few days.
Is CoolSculpting Permanent?
So, you are wondering if CoolSculpting Permanent. The short answer is yes! In the 90 days after a CoolSculpting procedure, dead fat cells that were killed off during the freezing process will be excreted through your lymphatic system. This results in a 40-50% permanent volume reduction of the treatment area.
We do recommend all our clients stick to healthy eating habits and regular exercise routines to help maintain optimal results. Your excreted fat cells can't come back, but actively working to maintain and limit the growth of the remaining cells is the best way to preserve your CoolSculpting results.
Do you lose weight with CoolSculpting?
After a CoolSculpting treatment, you will shed between 20 and 80% of the fat cells in your targeted treatment. Your unique percentage depends on the size of the area. The smaller, more localized the treatment (chin, neck, underarm, etc.) the closer to that 80% reduction rate you will be.
It is also important to factor in the volume of fat in a treatment area. The more fat there is, the higher the percentage of reduction you will have!
Does CoolSculpting tighten skin?
One of the most-asked questions we get at Advanced Aesthetics is CoolSculpting’s effect on skin elasticity.
Even though CoolSculpting has not been proven to improve skin elasticity, it will absolutely not negatively impact skin tightness either. Patients with preexisting sagging skin, or for those who are concerned about the effect of CoolSculpting on their skin, are encouraged to meet with our experts to talk through their concerns as well as determine whether they would be a good candidate for CoolSculpting.
How long to see CoolSculpting results?
Like most cosmetic procedures, it takes some time for the results to fully set in. CoolSculpting is no different. It takes your body some time to break down all those damaged fat cells and remove them from your body.
After a CoolSculpting session, most clients will start to notice a difference about three weeks after a session. Maximum results are typically achieved around three to four months after a session.
