What is a DiamondGlow™ Facial?

Today more than ever it feels as if there are endless different treatments, serums, procedures, and remedies to help improve our skin’s health and radiance. How do you figure out what is best for you and your unique skin goals though? Should you get a chemical peel or an exfoliating facial? With so many different options on the market, it can feel overwhelming to try and narrow down which skincare method is right for you.

At Advanced Aesthetics, we only offer services that we believe in. We understand how confusing the beauty industry can be, and that is why we prioritize offering our clients only the best skincare treatments that have proven results.

Our DiamondGlow™ is one of our most popular facial treatments, and with good reason. DiamondGlow doesn’t just exfoliate. It doesn’t just cleanse. It doesn’t just nourish. It does all three. This unique three-part treatment leaves skin cleaner, softer, and truly transformed by helping to clear clogged pores, quench parched skin, and remove dead cell build-up.

Since DiamondGlow is so versatile, it is a great option for anyone who is new to facials or unsure what kind of skin revitalization they are looking to achieve. What is DiamondGlow though, and how does it work?

What is DiamondGlow™?

Some facials exfoliate your skin, others hydrate it. Some facials extract excess debris and deep clean your pores. Until DiamondGlow; however, there was no single facial treatment on the market that could achieve all three desired results:

· Exfoliate: To uncover renewed skin

· Extract: To deeply cleanse the skin and remove debris from pores

· Infuse: With nourishing SkinMedica® Pro-Infusion Serums

___________

DiamondGlow, also known as Dermalinfusion, is a noninvasive skincare treatment that utilizes microdermabrasion to gently remove the dead outer layer of our skin. Over time, as our skin cells die and are replaced, we accumulate excessive dead cells which result in dull, lackluster skin. By exfoliating and buffing this layer of dead skin away, we are able to better maintain a healthy, glowing complexion.

DiamondGlow uses a diamond tip dermabrasion wand —which is about the size of a pen— to remove dead cells. After the exfoliation and cleansing process, when the skin is is most permeable for skincare products, a water-based medical-grade serum is applied to brighten, hydrate, and nourish the skin from the inside out.

The type of serum used during the DiamondGlow procedure depends on our client’s goal. There are multiple different conditions that can be addressed during this procedure:

· hyperpigmentation

· telangiectasia

· acne

· eczema

· sun damage

· dry skin

· rosacea

· fine lines

What is the Difference Between DiamondGlow™ and Hydrafacials?

If you find yourself wondering what the difference between a DiamondGlow treatment is compared to other types of skincare procedures such as Hydrafacials, you aren’t alone. Our DiamondGlow specialists often get asked this exact question.

The main difference between Diamond Glow and Hydrafacials is the way they exfoliate. Hydrafacials use glycolic and salicylic acid for chemical exfoliation, whereas DiamondGlow uses manual exfoliation with diamond-tip technology.

Additionally, Hydrafacials use customized boosters to achieve more cosmetic goals that tend to require more continuous care and maintenance. DiamondGlow, on the other hand, uses medical-grade serums to achieve more long-term, corrective care like stimulating blood flow, refining pores, improving acne, and reducing skin discoloration.

Benefits of DiamondGlow™

DiamondGlow has multiple advantages over other more traditional microdermabrasion and facial treatments. Since the diamond tip dermabrasion wand is incredibly gentle and does not utilize crystal or other chemical exfoliants, this treatment can be beneficial for people with skin conditions like acne, rosacea, eczema, and psoriasis. It can be used on more sensitive parts of your skin, such as around your eyes and on your lips.

Any individual looking to reduce the look of fine lines, wrinkles, scarring, age spots, and acne without the use of harsh chemicals are great candidates for this non-invasive procedure. Additionally, DiamondGlow has no downtime, and patients can be done and out the door in as little as 30 minutes.

DiamondGlow™ Results and Side Effects

Before your treatment, you will work with our specialist to determine the ideal treatment plan for your skin and your skincare goals. For best results, we typically recommend our clients get the DiamondGlow treatment four to six times to start, with each treatment two weeks apart. After that, maintenance treatments can be done every two to three months to refresh the skin and maintain the newly achieved clarity and luminosity.

Before your appointment, you will want to:

  • Discontinue the use of topical products containing AHAs, Retinols, or Vitamin A 72 hours prior to treatment.

  • Avoid excessive sun exposure 48-72 prior to treatment.

  • Consult your primary care physician to ensure this treatment is right for you

  • Work with our specialists to develop a customized skincare routine with Alastin and ZO® Skin Health products.

After your treatment, you will want to:

  • Avoid the use of topical products containing AHAs, Retinols, Vitamin A, for 72 hours post-treatment.

  • Avoid excessive sun exposure 48-72 post-treatment.

  • Avoid exfoliating for one week post-treatment.

  • Continue your customized skincare routine with Alastin and ZO® Skin Health products to maintain and optimize treatment results.

It is common to experience some redness and skin sensitivity. Other than that, the 30-minute DiamondGlow procedure has minimal negative side effects and absolutely no downtime, making it the ideal option for anyone with a busy schedule and not a lot of time to spare.
